The Chicago Frame

Urbana, Illinois

Spring 2024

The Chicago Frame is a curated collection of conceptual works that explores fundamental concerns within contemporary architecture, including the dialogue between interior and enclosure, material and surface, cohesion and discord, orientation, permeability, structure, and stability, as well as the consideration of programmatic relationships.

The following works are drawn from a range of projects developed throughout the studio, each connecting back to a singular iterative process. Central design ideas—such as the interplay between organic curves and rigid structural materials, and the development of modular components that can be assembled into diverse spatial configurations—form the foundation of this conceptual exploration.
